Rust Xbox Series X Review - Live. Die. Repeat!

"Conquer thirst and hunger, weather the elements, and create the tools necessary for survival. Protect yourself from hostile forces or bring the fight to them. Battle rogue scientists, wild animals, and other players to stay alive.

A game without rules Rust doesn't tell you what to do. Be prepared for player vs player combat, raiding and looting, or forge alliances with other players to overcome the obstacles you share"

Be prepared to die. A lot!

Rust runs extremely well on the Xbox Series X. Frame rates are steady, textures look great, and the lighting gives an authentic atmosphere.

Spawning into one of Rusts limited servers with up to 99 other players is a challenge in itself. Equipped with only a rock for harvesting materials and ore, better equipped players have trapped the spawn zones with wooden spikes, and await to loot your dead corpse once a small amount of wood and ore have been mined. A near naked, rock wielding noob making easy prey for gun totting, armour wearing allied veteran. Add to the mix spawn zones that are over-run with wild boar, and bears... I think you see where this is going - You die. A lot! However, Rust is engaging, and enjoyable once a stone base has been established, and projectile weapons researched, but remain vigilant, other players will exploit any weakness within your base, and raid your cold corpse given half the chance.

Having played Rust for the last 24 hours I'm unsure I will return to the game in it's current state - whilst private serves are unavailable for console. For noobs, without alliances Rust can be frustrating and repetitive.

LIVE. DIE. REPEAT!
